Gertrude E. Best Ebersbach (December 17, 1920 - October 13, 2009)

Gertrude E. Best Ebersbach, 88, of Zanesville, died at 10:35 PM Tuesday October 13, 2009 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.

She was born December 17, 1920 in Zanesville the daughter of the late Charles and Helen Manda Best. She was member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Muskingum Valley Boating Association, The First Families of Muskingum County, Daughters of Isabella, volunteer for 41 years at the Good Samaritan Charity Circle Gift Shop, former employee of ETC Gift Shop, avid euchre and bridge player, former president of St. Nicholas Senior Citizens and enjoyed Cleveland Cavaliers and Ohio State Sports.

Gertrude is survived by daughters: Lois (Jim) Freeman and Karen (Tom) Hardman both of Zanesville, grandchildren: Mark (Denise) Ebersbach, Maggie (Dave) Bash, Joe Ebersbach, Matt (Kelly) Ebersbach, Abby ( Mike) Fitz, Bobby Hardman and Amy Hardman, great grandchildren: Emily Bash, David Bash, Leanne Bash, Abby Bash, Max Ebersbach, Jack Ebersbach, Cooper Ebersbach and Carson Ebersbach great great grandchild: Libby Sue Bettinger, nephew: Ray (Dee) Best of Prescott, AZ, special friends: Hazel Cruise and Margaret Pletcher both of Zanesville.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband: Robert J. Ebersbach who died 2/26/1969, son: Larry Ebersbach who died 11/17/1993 and brother: George Best.

Visitation for Gertrude will be 3:00 – 5:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 Friday October 16, 2009 at Bryan & Snider Funeral Home 2318 Maple Ave with Christian Vigil service at 4:30 PM Friday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Saturday October 17, 2009 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church followed by committal service at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
